A day well spent with AIYA and friends in Carlton where we got creative for our Batik Workshop.

Batik is a traditional Indonesian fabric dyeing technique that originated from the island of Java in the late 1800s and is still used today throughout Indonesia.

There are several batik-making techniques used today including more modern methods such as stamping and printing, however, for this workshop, Mama Ning chose to teach the traditional method using hot wax.
