What happens when a Lestari girl gets married?
You gather the troops and get them all to dance!

Our Lestari girl, Deena Verawati, got married in Yogyakarta, Indonesia in July this year and of course had Lestari girls, Laura & Yana accompany her to dance with her as a surprise for the guests on her wedding day. Deena had a very traditional Javanese wedding, with full Javanese costumes and processions.

Sanggar Lestari performed Tari Gambyong, which is a classic Javanese dance originating from Surakarta or Solo. Gambyong was traditionally performed at agricultural ceremonies to promote rice fertility. Today, Tari Gambyong is most commonly performed at wedding receptions to welcome guests.
