I love Indonesian Dancing because it brings me closer to the rich heritage of Indonesian culture and I am learning new aspects that I did not previously know about.

WHY ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT INDONESIA?

As I am now living in Australia I have appreciated Australia's interest in Indonesia's culture. It has expensed my appreciation of just how diverse and complex Indonesia's culture truly is!

YOUR FAVOURITE STYLE OF INDONESIAN DANCE

I love Tari Saman and Tari Piring from Sumatera. Tari Piring movements are complex and require practice to deliver movements successfully. Tari Piring is also very unique as it traditionally involves dancing on top of broken glass which adds additional drama and theatre to the dance

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PART OF SANGGAR LESTARI

I have been with Lestari since I joined about one year ago! I have performed for multiple Indonesian events during this time. I love every performance! I get very excited getting dressed in different traditional Indonesian Costumes and performing for the audience!
