Sanggar Lestari has been keeping busy this year!

When we’re not performing, we have been collaborating with creatives, including photographers.

This time, we had a photoshoot with Mbak Devina Krimarina from Melbourne Polytechnic. The theme of this shoot was 'Cultural Diversity in Melbourne'.

Lestari girl, Mira was our model for the shoot, assisted by Lestari Girls Yana and Seraina. For this shoot, Mira wore a Balinese 'Tari Sekar Jagat' outfit and danced and posed graciously as Mbak Devina experimented and took different photos. Mira has performed Balinese dancing before and used some of these movements to help guide the photoshoot.

After Mira's modelling, Yana helped by wearing the heavy Rangda Mask for some more shots. Talk about a contrast in outfits!

We had such a fun day getting ready and experiencing the photoshoot. Thank you once again to Mbak Devina for your enthusiasm for the shoot!

We can't wait for the exhibition and to see the final photos.

Keep your eyes peeled for more photos from the shoot. Hopefully, we will be able to see these at the End of Year Showcase at Melbourne Polytechnic.
